This course is the 80 hour, one year, online portion of the full 200 hour registered herbalist course. It can be taken as a standalone online course for the Community Herbalist Certificate.
Classes Include:
- Botany and Ethical wild crafting
- Building a Home Apothecary
Learn sustainable practices for sourcing and storing herbs, including ethical wild crafting and building a home herbal collection. - Vocabulary, Properties and Actions
Dive into key herbal terms, actions, and properties of 65 herbs over the course of 5 modules. - Herbal Formulation
Learn the principles of blending herbs for stability and grounding. - Kitchen Witchery
Everyday herbalism with Earth herbs, including cooking and simple remedies.
Herbal Preparations:
- Alcohol as a Solvent: Learn to make folk tinctures and explore the alchemical magic of plant extraction.
- Water as a Solvent: Techniques for creating decoctions, syrups, and nourishing herbal broths.
- Vinegar, Glyceride, and Honey as Solvents: Craft herbal vinegars, glycerides, and oxymels that capture the essence of your plants.
- Oil as a Solvent: Make herbal oils and discuss the process of creating salves, perfect for skincare and healing.
Herbal Anatomy and Systems Support:
- Digestive and Cardiovascular Systems:
Explore herbs for the digestive system, liver, and cardiovascular health, and learn to craft formulas that support these vital systems. - Reproductive and Urinary Systems:
Herbs for menstruation, pregnancy, men’s health, and urinary support, with practical guidance on making tailored remedies. - Respiratory and Nervous Systems:
Herbal support for respiratory and nervous systems, including calming blends for stress and anxiety. - Endocrine System:
Dive into herbs that support hormonal balance and overall endocrine health, connecting to the subtler energies of plant medicine.
Program Details:
- Format: Live, interactive online classes via Zoom.
- Schedule: Classes are held on Monday evenings
Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
Cost:
- Paid in Full: $1,200 Paid before Jan 15
- Early bird discount: Paid in full by Nov 15 $1000
- Payment Plan: $1,500 ($600 deposit, $200 per month Feb 1-April 1 )
- Deposit: $600 due to hold space (non-refundable)
- Supply Fee: $70 per module, covering all 65 herbs used during the program, totaling $350. Supply fees are due at the start of each module. Shipping fee for those who live out of state.
- Please be aware there are no refunds for this program, if you drop out within one month of program start date we give you 50% toward the next herb program and you will be responsible for all payments if you are on a payment plan.
