Join Samantha Goldberg Blackthorn, Jenny Orona and Kaytee Hernandez (she/her) for the unique opportunity to take a Yoga Alliance certified teacher training course online! The 200 HR Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training for the Mystically Inclined is an affordable and accessible virtual program with the value and integrity of traditional in person training.

This incredible yoga teacher-training program is dedicated to uplifting individuals, artists, and seekers of the mystic path. Whether you want to teach yoga professionally or deepen your personal practice, this program will provide you the opportunity to learn more about yourself through the study of yoga. Explore your inner landscape and gain tools, and techniques to bring balance to your body, mind and soul.

Classes will specialize in deepening your personal yoga practice, gaining a solid foundation in the eight limbs of yoga, and preparing you to teach yoga classes. Study the history of yoga, yoga philosophy, chakras, koshas, introduction to ayurveda, pranayama, chanting, meditation, yoga anatomy and physiology, sequencing vinyasa yoga, restorative, introduction to prenatal yoga, and the business of yoga. You’ll also learn to incorporate yogic rituals and ayurvedic practices into your daily life in an honorable manner.

 

Samantha Goldberg Blackthorn, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, holds a degree in Biological science with an emphasis on anatomy and physiology. She brings her strength in anatomical education, as well as her studies in the mystic and healing arts to each and every class she teaches. Samantha will lead the anatomy (western and eastern), ethics and business sections.

 

Kaytee Hernandez (she/her) is an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, certified Yoga Therapist, and Yoga Manager at Austin Bouldering Project. Kaytee believes in the power of the physical asanas (postures) as a portal to experience the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga. She loves Vinyasa yoga because it feels like moving meditation. She brings her strength in sequencing, cuing and communication, and trauma informed yoga. Kaytee will teach the asana, teacher technique, and practical teaching part of the program.

 

Jenny Orono turned to yoga when an accident caused a debilitating spinal injury. Her yoga practice gave her relief from physical pain, as well as mental and emotional clarity. Her teaching comes from this in-depth understanding and she has a unique ability to find a practice for every “body.” She is well-known for incorporating movement, breath, meditation and sound into her classes, making them accessible to clients and students of every level. A Yoga Therapist at Seton Shoal Creek, she brings the healing path of yoga to clients recovering from substance abuse, trauma and mental illness.
Certifications:

JennyO is a Yoga Teacher Trainer, and a Yoga Therapist Trainer and holds certifications as a Yoga Therapist- (C-IAYT), E-RYT 500 in Hatha Yoga, a RYT 500 hour in Kundalini Yoga, and holds advanced certifications in specialized modalities of iRest, Restorative, Pre and Postnatal, Radiant Child,Yoga for Cancer Survivors and Trauma-Informed Yoga. She continues her studies with Indigenous groups in Shamanism with Maria Elaina. She holds a Masters in Human Resources and continues her yoga studies as a personal student of Chase Bossart and studies Ayurveda under the tutelage of Elizabeth Cunningham Bossart.

All the teachers have years of experience teaching asana classes, healing arts and teaching teachers and have written curriculum for YTT programs. A diverse range of guest teachers who are experts in their fields will teach throughout the course. This training program is certified through Yoga Alliance.

Training will be hosted online through zoom video conferencing.

Classes will be every

Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM

Every other Saturday and Sunday

10:00 am-1:00 pm and 2:00-5:00 pm

Every Sundays 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 2:00-5:00 pm

All classes will be recorded for students, and can be completed online. Students will be certified to teach through the Yoga Alliance upon completion of the program. We require 75% of the program to be "in person" synchronized/present in class in real time. 25% can be made up through recordings.

Samantha Saladino

Samantha began her study of yoga in 1993 and has taught since 1999. She is an international yoga teacher and workshop presenter. Samantha is a certified Iyengar teacher (CIYT), is registered with the International association of yoga therapy (IAYT) and has E-500RYT through the yoga alliance. Samantha trains yoga teachers and writes curriculum for yoga teacher training programs. She teaches anatomy, kinesiology and postural assessment to yoga teachers in the states and abroad. In her classes she focuses on alignment, stability of joints and flexibility of muscles combining her anatomical knowledge of the human body with her love and passion for yoga and guiding her students toward their optimal wellbeing. Her private yoga sessions can help you to deepen your practice, learn tools of alignment to stay safe in flow classes, create a sequence designed for your specific needs, relieve tension, stress and pain from postural deviations, improve daily posture or introduce you to the props, poses, and terminology necessary to help you feel comfortable going to a larger group class.

Peggy Kelly

Lucky to have found Iyengar's Light on Yoga before she turned 20, Peggy has continued to study the Iyengar method wherever she has lived since that discovery (Massachusetts, Canada, Texas, India, Mexico). She has taught Iyengar Yoga in Austin for decades, and directs Austin Iyengar Yoga, a nonprofit entity that grants scholarships to students.

Her Ayurveda studies were inspired by Geeta Iyengar's teaching.. In the late 90's Peggy met Swamini Maya Ma (formerly Bri. Maya Tiwari) and studied Ayurveda with her at the Wise Earth School in North Carolina. She is a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner (CAP). In 2012 her book Physical Poetry: Uniting Yoga and Ayurveda was published by Durga Press in Austin.

Kaytee Hernandez

My name is Kaytee (she/her). I’m a creative, kind and energetic personality. I’ve been teaching yoga in Austin for five years and have called this amazing city home for six. I have always been called to help others through creative expression, authentic connection and movement. I believe that everyone has the power within to heal and grow. I guide folks on their personal healing journey through my work as a Yoga Therapist, Yoga Teacher and Yoga Manager at Austin Bouldering Project.
