How to Make Delicious Herbal Energy Balls

These herbal energy balls are nutrient-dense, adaptogenic, and packed with flavor. They’re the perfect afternoon pick-me-up or pre/post-workout snack. This recipe blends mushrooms, energizing herbs, and superfoods into a gooey, chocolatey treat.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chocolate chips (look for options with no processed sugar)

  • ¼ cup shredded coconut

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon reishi powder

  • 1 tablespoon lion’s mane powder

  • 1 teaspoon guarana powder

  • 1 tablespoon maca powder

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (unsweetened)

  • ½ teaspoon spirulina

  • ¼ cup nut butter of choice (almond, peanut, or sunflower seed)

  • 6–8 chopped dates (or use a food processor to break them down)

  • 2 tablespoons cacao nibs

  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low to medium heat, gently melt the chocolate chips with the shredded coconut and oats. Stir continuously to prevent burning.

  2. Once the mixture becomes soft and gooey, turn off the heat.

  3. Stir in the nut butter and chopped dates until evenly incorporated.

  4. Add all powdered herbs (reishi, lion’s mane, guarana, maca, cinnamon, ashwagandha, cocoa, and spirulina) and mix well.

  5. Fold in the cacao nibs and pecan pieces.

  6. Let the mixture cool slightly, then use your hands or a small scoop to form into bite-sized balls.
